Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet Rich Plasma, known as PRP, is a skin rejuvenating and hair loss treatment that accelerates healing, repairs skin and generates collagen. Platelets contain growth factors that trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area.
The Process: A small sample of your blood is taken and placed into a machine that separates the plasma from the rest of the blood. The plasma is then removed from the tube and used in the targeted area(s) such as face or scalp.
There are two types of PRP treatments
-
Facial Anti-Aging Treatment/ Rejuvenation: Often referred to as a “vampire” facial, PRP can be used to target all areas of the face to help restore and brighten the aging face and decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure whereby micro needles are used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and tighten skin. The micro needle stimulates collagen production in the skin without damaging it. Microneedling with PRP encourages the body to recycle old/damaged skin cells, produce more collagen and elastin, and rejuvenate skin aesthetic. PRP can used to target areas such as the under-eye for those clients who may not be interested in under-eye filler. Prior to the PRP facial, numbing cream is applied to the face and neck to make the procedure more comfortable. PRP Facial Downtime: most clients experience some downtime for about 1-2 days at most, following microneedling with PRP. Redness, dryness, and some skin flaking are typical during the first few days to week of the healing process.
-
Hair Loss/ Hair Thinning: PRP can be used both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. The natural growth factors in PRP do 3 things: recruit new hairs to grow, keeps hair that is present in its growth phase, stimulates stem cells around follicles to thicken. It takes approximately 3-6 months to see new hair growth and will require a minimum of 3-4 treatments occurring every 4-6 weeks. There is no downtime with PRP hair loss treatments, other than not washing the hair for 12-24 hours. Most patients report little discomfort. The blood draw and injections are performed with very fine, thin needles to minimize discomfort. Numbing cream can be applied for those who require it.

How it Works
PRP contains several growth factors that contribute to tissue repair, collagen production, promotion of wound healing and new generation and repair of blood vessels.
Benefits
Individuals seeking facial rejuvenation by reduction of fine lines, acne scars, photo aging, hyperpigmentation, large pores and stretch marks by delivering growth factors to the dermis of the skin.
Process
Platelets are separated from Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP), red blood cells and white blood cells via centrifugation. PRP is collected and may be applied to the treatment site either with a fine needle injection or micro-needling pen.
